GATE US provides an electronic marketplace for the global community of trading counter-parties in our targeted products and services. Providing an infrastructure in which to optimize and support investment and trading strategies for participants. We view ourselves as a trusted business partner to our members.
We believe that by using the GATE US electronic platform, market participants can achieve price improvement over the current execution and trade settlement processes. Electronic trade execution for the restricted and illiquid securities offers cost efficiencies by providing firm posted prices and reducing back office overhead, and allows us to accelerate the introduction of new products on our platform. The combination of electronic trade execution, integrated trading and market data services facilitates all phases of trade execution and processing from front-office to back-office, from trading and risk management to settlement.
By automating the transaction process by which restricted or illiquid securities trade, we believe that GATE US will experience mass adoption amongst current participants and thus dramatically increasing liquidity and opening the asset class to an entirely new group of investors who previously would not consider the class as a viable investment sector because of the illiquid, document intensive, and closed nature of the securities. Our goal is to have GATE US platform on the desktop of every investment professional worldwide.
Management Team
The GATE management team is led by financial professionals who have extensive industry knowledge ranging from investment banking and illiquid security financings to complex trading platforms and systems. Because GATE is a synthesis of technology and financial community, the GATE management team is focused on building an efficient system that allows participants to interact freely.
Jim O’Reilly, President and CEO
Mr. O’Reilly is a founder of GATE Technologies and CEO and President of GATE US LLC a wholly owned subsidiary of GATE Technologies. Mr. O’Reilly brings to GATE 20 years of experience in financial services industry. His expertise has been in developing, managing, and implementation of electronic trading platform.
Mr. O’Reilly is directly responsible for the day to day operations of GATE US including all finances and managing the company’s employees. In addition Mr. O’Reilly will oversee the implementation of the company’s business strategies, marketing plans and introductions of new product lines.
Prior to GATE Mr. O’Reilly was the COO of Global Access Holdings LLC, a financial media and analytics company, where he was responsible for business development, product development, sales and marketing functions, as well as the day to day operations of the company, including all financial reporting and analysis, budgeting, and accounting. In addition Mr. O’Reilly held a senior management position at Sanford Bernstein and Company, where he helped develop and implement a new OTC trading desk as well as integrated new technologies for institutional equity trading. Mr. O’Reilly began his career at Charles Schwab and Company where he held a number of positions before becoming a Senior Trader in the equities division. He was also responsible for intraday risk and exposure. During his tenure at Schwab he played an active part in the development of the firm’s electronic trading platforms and technology.
Mr. O’Reilly holds a B.B.A. in Finance with a minor in Management from the Frank G. Zarb School of Business at Hofstra University.
